ETHIOPIA  take 2

...working in places during humanitarian emergencies gives you something of a false perspective. It's like forming a mental image of yourself based on what the mirror tells you first thing on a Monday morning.

Several friends have commented that my image of Ethiopia on this site is pretty depressing. If anyone knows of a cheerful way to present a famine, please let me know.

There are other angles however, and this is an attempt to present one. These  pictures were taken in the southern Great Rift Valley (SNNPR) in April 2004. Despite the lush appearance, the area is in the middle of a major food crisis, now commonly called "Green Famine". Food, but not enough ofit for the millions of people who live here.
